When we moved into our house, there was a terrible eyesore of a shed in the backyard. After tearing it down, we replaced it with two large vegetable boxes, something that I’d admired in so many California gardens. What could be better than heading to your backyard for dinner?
However, I’m in no way a gardener and have no interest in investing real time in turning dirt into edibles. So, I basically just dropped in some seeds and waited to see what would happen. Amazingly enough, the first attempt succeeded pretty darn well, and we have a growing crop (with our first little radish harvest this week!).
I also realized that I was having trouble remembering what had gone where, so before things totally turned into a pile of green, I made these little labels. Why the plum on every one? Our garden sits under a plum tree.
